Speak out!

It's hard to say why I decided to start this blog, but I think I've come to a point in my life where I am in the middle of finding myself and discovering the values of life.... and I have a lot to say. I used to think that sitting in front of a computer screen and writing pointlessly to a screen (and to some unknown readers) was the best way of wasting time but I'm beginning to realize that people's voices are some of the most important and beautiful things- no matter where they come from. We all have feelings and opinions, and no matter what, I think we all have many things in common. I hope that this blog helps me connect with others, and at the same time, I hope it inspires someone else to create one, speak out, and let the world hear what you have to say.

It's weird because we (as humans) have so many emotions and opinions that we are dying to express, yet we constantly hold ourselves back from true human expression and interaction. (Not that speaking through a computer screen is true interaction, but it's something!). Even for me, writing this is completely shocking because in many ways I'm scared of exposing myself. I'm scared of saying what I think, and what I feel and the reaction that others will have. I guess I still have to develop that level of self confidence, but I'm hoping that this blog will help that. I hope you take my words as just another person reaching out and opening up ....and that you're able to see the beauty in that.

Maybe through my words- and the many other bloggers out there- we will all be able to connect and understand so much more about each other and about the human race. There are a lot of important words to hear, a lot of eye opening experiences, and a lot of different and interesting opinions that are dying to be heard. You, reading this, are only ONE person out of the 6 billion in the world...and if you're opening yourself up to listen to a stranger, and to think about their words, it is one step closer towards developing that closeness and understanding that the human race is yearning for.
